Growing the Next Generation of Leaders: The Hilton Prize Coalition Fellows Program
The Hilton Prize Coalition Fellows Program is providing emerging leaders with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the humanitarian and development sectors through placements with Coalition member organizations. Individual Organization Fellows work exclusively with one Coalition member, while Collaborative Fellows work alongside multiple Coalition members for collective impact. All fellowships touch on one or more of the Hilton Prize Coalition’s focus areas: humanitarian assistance, human rights, development, education and health.
Fellowship duties vary by geography and in scope and have included international field work, marketing and communications, fundraising and operations, research and programming. This year’s program placements include that of a Spring 2016 Collaborative Fellow with SOS Children’s Villages who traveled through Nepal as a crew member of the Coalition’s first Storytelling Program. Another Spring 2016 Fellow will be conducting research in Seattle for Landesa, within their Center for Women’s Land Rights program, and, in Fall 2016, a Collaborative Fellow will be working alongside Tostan and Operation Smile in the Democratic Republic of the Congo on social reintegration programs for women who have suffered from obstetric fistula.
Fall 2015 Collaborative Fellow, Rachel Francis (pictured below), has been working with the Secretariat to launch the Hilton Prize Coalition Fellows Alumni Network – click here to read about her fellowship experience – and Summer 2015 Fellow, Madeline Soukup, said of her experience, “I could not have asked for a better way to start my professional career… A month into my fellowship I had created a survey for a client, worked on a benchmarking report, and conducted research to support the Hilton Prize Coalition. I was able to develop my office skills, knowledge of global development and fundraising practices.”
The Hilton Prize Coalition Fellows Program is accepting applications on a rolling basis. Open positions are posted on the Hilton Prize Coalition’s Inventory of Opportunities page.
